Thanks for drawing after every game this season Joe. Your artwork and sense of humor have made this Mets season a little easier to bear. Keep up the good work!
Thanks Joe, this was my first season following baseball and supporting the Mets (I'm from Perth, Australia). Your artwork was a delight and really illuminated the beauty of a sport, a team, and it's fans, that I've since come to love over the past season (as hard to believe as that may be!). I look forward to your work in the future, and hopefully - soon - work that extends into the post-season!
THANK YOU all for sharing the season with me.Even though the outcome was lousy, you all made this one of the most memorable Mets seasons ever for me. I am going to continue the blog in the off-season. Not sure when I'll start but I would like to blog either the 86 season or start a history of the Mets going back to season one.
Congrats & Great job all year!! U always deliver! What I'll probably remember most about this season...are your drawings!! Your Inaugural year! =) Once again -- its like the Schmooze's monologue come-to-life! Your humor & take on the games is really what makes it all so special! I don't know how u can come up w such catchy titles to each cartoon -- but Im glad u do! Its been great! Lookin forward to next year & your off-season work! Thanks!!
I'd love to see an '86 Mets blog. Was born in '86 and recently read "The Bad Guys Won" a month or two ago. Seeing it done in your incredible drawings would be amazing!
Thanks for your amazing artwork all season. It's made the losing games somewhat enjoyable in that I look forward to seeing how you will convey the ridiculousness that took place :) Looking forward to more!
Great work this season! Congratulations on making it through all 162. It'd be great to see a collection of '86 pieces or a yearly highlights going back to '62, so whichever you decide to do will be great.
Congrats Joe, you did it! A entire season without interruption. And I was there for every one. Can't thank you enough for the memorable season. You most definitely ROCK!
Congratulations on making it through the season, the Mets definitely made it difficult for all of us, but there were a few bright spots and your blog was one of them.
We'll GET EM NEXT YEAR! seems like that has been our motto for way to long! Loved it all would expect no less from such a talent like you. Atleast you have the Jets. GO GANG GREEN but also GO BIG BLUE!
Congrats on finishing the whole season! This entry really perks up the end result of this lost season. I enjoyed coming here to check in daily, especially if I had to miss a game. All the best with your football blog and Mets retrospective. Hopefully next season will be better.
Joe- It's unanimous. You get the MVB award (Most Valuable Blog.) Also MVP; Most Valuable Pentel. IMO You and Angel Pagan should go on the Hot Stove League banquet circuit and bask in the personal glory of your achievements. Art changes lives, art mirrors life. Bravissimo!
Well, the fat lady has sung Mr.Petruccio and you made it to the finish line. As you can see there are many who have appreciated your work. WE ALL SALUTE YOU! You have been a bright light in the dimness. You made the horrible okay, because as the Mets played horribly we all could go here afterward and have a smile.
I'm sure whoever the new manager is you will find something about him to create a great caricature from.
Go for the 86 season, save the Met history for the book.
Years from now it would have been tough to look back and have anything good to say about this season. But I know I can say, "Oh yea, 2010, R.A.Dicky found his groove and that was the year Joe Petruccio started his on-line journal/blog. Cheers bro!
Joe - Superb season of wit and insight. How about 'Highlights in Mets History'? Not just the obvious but some moments which have molded our teams character...such as Jimmy Pearsall's 100th homerun in the Polo Grounds. I'm sure your followers would love to submit their favorite(s). Thanks again for providing such joy.
